About the Role: Support the organisation in establishing and maintaining a strong risk management environment.
The position will positively drive and influence the risk management maturity and culture of Council and its stakeholders. This position is Council's Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO) and is required to undertake duties by working in collaboration with emergency service organisations.

• Develop and maintain an organisational risk framework
• Develop and maintain the tools, templates, software and guidelines to effectively manage risk.
• Embed a culture and framework of proactive risk management
• Identify, recommend, monitor and report on activity and initiatives that promote accountability through the organisation for risk management
• Develop project plans and coordinate resources to implement initiatives
• Support the management of Council's insurance requirements including the handling and management of insurance policies and claims, ensuring adequacy of cover and achieving best value for money without reducing the level of cover
• Provide support to the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee to undertake their role
• Provide executive support and assistance to the Chair of the Local Emergency Management Committee (LEMC) and the LEMC
• When the Local Emergency Operations Controller (LEOCon) is an incident controller, provide executive support to the LEOCon
