Description:
Our client is a Queensland Government department that is responsible for planning, managing and delivering Queensland's integrated transport environment to achieve sustainable transport solutions for road, rail, air and sea.
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for creating and implementing organisational change management and communications strategies and plans that maximise employee adoption and usage and minimise resistance. You will also focus on the people side of change - including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organisation structures.
Key responsibilities:
- Apply a structured methodology and lead change management activities to ensure the project changes are embedded smoothly into the business.
- Identify and engage with project stakeholders to assess the business impacts of the change in the areas of technology, organisational, people and processes.
- Create change management strategy providing strategic and tactical advice
- Lead a small team of resources for the organisational change management training and communication activities required to support the implementation phase of the project if applicable
- Have a solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
- Complete the initial complexity assessment to scope out the level of change required.
- Create actionable deliverables for the change management levers:
Change impact analysis
Resistance management plan
Stakeholder analysis and engagement strategy
Communications action plan - coordinate all project communication activities
- Training plans and packages - coordinate training schedules and resources to deliver the training
- Support and engage senior leaders by providing coaching and advice when required
- Coordinating project and business resources in carrying out the change management activities
- Working with the project manager to integrate change management activities in the project plan
- Evaluate and ensure user readiness activities in place as part of the implementation package
- Track and report risks and issues
- Establishing and/or contributing to the business readiness and release plan
- Define and measure success metrics, monitor change progress and develop strategies for any areas of resistance
- Plan and coordinate the close out activities of the project in consultation with the project manager realising ROI and the achievement of results and outcomes.
Other duties as required
- The role may have quarterly Key Performance Indicators to maintain.
Desired skills and experience
- 5+ years experience as a change and communications manager on ICT projects in large, complex organisations
- Current and varied experience across public and private sector is highly desirable.
- Experience with cyber security or cloud enablement projects
