An opportunity for an Operations Manager to join on of the top legal firms in Australia . As the Operations Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager and the leadership team to align strategic and operational initiatives, ensuring the successful execution and completion of all projects to meet commercial objectives.

Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the General Manager to ensure that systems, processes and operational infrastructure are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the business.
- Work with the General Manager, Managing Partner and Shared Services Managers to foster a culture of excellence, enhance overall business operations and implement necessary improvements.
- Support the General Manager and Shared Services Managers in delivering the financial, people, IT, premises, compliance, company secretarial and risk functions of the business.
- On a daily basis, this involves providing analysis and insight to help guide decision making, preparing financial and other reports, monitoring productivity, lock-up and other financial metrics overseeing third-party providers, ensuring premises requirements are satisfied and managing company secretarial requirements. Over time, it entails introducing new processes and practices that will steer the firm towards success.
- Assisting the General Manager in ensuring compliance with existing and new regulatory requirements and renewal and administration of professional indemnity, income protection business, management liability, corporate travel and cyber security insurance policies.
- Developing, implementing, and managing processes and systems to track expenses, accruals, and budgets, with the aim of identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Collaborating with the General Manager and the management team to prioritise areas with the greatest potential and impact.
- Coordinating and overseeing special projects or initiatives, such as process redesign or technology upgrades.
- Preparing reports for the Management Committee on financial performance, strategic initiatives, operations, risk management, and commercial activities.
About you
To be considered for the role, you will need to have:
- Bachelor of Business/Management, Accounting, Commerce, Economics or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- 3 or more years of experience in a business management or similar role. Having some exposure to the legal industry would be an advantage.
- Extensive experience managing financial processes within a professional services environment eg. preparation of monthly reports etc.
- Possesses strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, with a proven track record of implementing organisational changes and achieving operational excellence.
- Demonstrates strong financial acumen, data analysis and budget management skills, predicting trends to make data-driven decisions to optimise resource allocation and financial performance.
- Ability to distil and present complex data in a clear and concise manner.
- Exhibits sound judgment in both business and commercial matters, showcasing exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Assesses existing processes to identify areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated experience in cultivating strategic relationships and utilising influence to liaise with stakeholders and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
