Fuse Recruitment is assisting a leading organisation in the financial services sector, a prominent part of a global group, in their search for a highly skilled Operational Risk Lead. This critical role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust operational risk management framework aligned with APRA Prudential Standard CPS230. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance operational resilience, managing risks associated with critical business operations and service providers, ensuring smooth operations and safeguarding customers from disruptions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an Operational Risk and Resilience framework in compliance with CPS230, integrating with existing policies and practices.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats.
- Develop and manage an operational risk controls assessment and testing framework to enhance key controls across the organization.
- Provide subject matter expertise on operational risk, advising internal stakeholders as required.
- Prepare and present regular risk and operational resilience reports to senior management and the board.
- Foster a strong risk culture, in line with the three lines of defence model.
- Mentor and guide direct reports to support their professional growth.
- Collaborate with the broader Enterprise Risk Team on cross-functional projects.
- Cultivate a culture of ownership and accountability within your team while managing performance effectively.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of risk management experience in the Financial Services sector, preferably within APRA-regulated environments.
- Strong understanding of CPS230, CPS220, the Financial Accountability Regime (FAR), and CPS234.
- Extensive knowledge of Operational Resilience, Third Party, and Operational Risk Management practices.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively with stakeholders to implement operational improvements.
- Familiarity with the General Insurance industry and relevant legislation is highly desirable.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive, detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality reports, policies, and documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
- Experience in systems and data analysis, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, Law, Risk Management, or a related field is essential.
