Primary objective
Deliver contemporary, quality-assured and timely analysis and reporting to a portfolio of client agencies that is used within those agencies to meet
national and regulatory reporting obligations and to inform strategic and operational plans.
Context statement
Agency Business Systems (ABS) – Justice and General Government (JGG) manage client agencies’ core business digital systems through their life
cycle from strategy to design, development, release and deployment, operational delivery, maintenance, support and retirement.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Perform high-level data manipulation and reporting to meet the differentiated business and planning needs of client agencies, including
documenting and developing the reporting and information landscape.
2. Interpret and investigate business requests from client agencies to provide flexible and sustainable responses to data collection and reporting
to meet evolving requirements, including encouraging self-service of readily available information within client agencies through proactive
client engagement and upskilling end-users.
3. Undertake peer reviews and validation activities to ensure the effective delivery of management and performance reporting in line with
delivery service standards.
4. Collaborate with clients and colleagues to resolve issues and identify opportunities for improved service delivery, with an emphasis building
and maintaining productive working relationships.
5. Assist senior management with specific projects and related procurement and contact management processes, including preparing associated

1. Contemporary knowledge of and extensive experience using enterprise business intelligence applications and tools for effective data
management, analysis and reporting, e.g., SSRS (SSQL Server Reporting Services), Power BI, Business Objects, Crystal reports, dashboards, MS
Word, Portable Document Format (PDF), Hyper Text Market Language (HTML), and Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformations (XSLT).
2. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with business systems, SQL-92 or later and T-SQL, data domains and Atlassian tools, e.g., Jira and
Confluence.
3. Project management experience including applying governance and risk management methodologies and contributing to procurement and
contract management activities.
4. High-level communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with proven ability to build the capacity of others and
develop effective working relationships with stakeholders and clients of diverse professional and cultural backgrounds.
5. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and respectful.
Desirable
1. Tertiary Qualifications in a related discipline, e.g., ICT, Business Administration.
2. Relevant Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL®) qualification or similar certification.
