Nurse Unit Manager

As the Nurse Unit Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the nursing team at our Albury Wodonga Clinic to meet the needs of GenesisCare's strategy, vision and values. This is achieved by providing advanced nursing knowledge and skills, leadership to ensure a positive engaged workforce and resource management to ensure all aspects of legislation are addressed.

The Nurse Unit Manager will have an excellent understanding of current trends, research and policies in Oncology Nursing. You will work with the centre leader, quality manager and Director of Nursing to ensure evidence based, best practice guidelines are applied.

As a skilled communicator the Nurse Unit Manager will maintain open and effective communication with the Nursing team, medical team, management team and all other allied health and craft groups within the business.

• Provide support to the Director of Nursing with the ability to cover during leave periods
• Recruitment and selection of clinical (excluding doctors) and non-clinical staff
• Performance management
• Grievance resolution
• Annual performance development reviews of staff
• Ongoing feedback and professional development
• In service programs
• Research
• Drive and lead the implementation of project initiatives also participating in project groups as required
• Assist and support staff in education, research and development opportunities
