Network Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in implementing and/or supporting networks.
• Experience with modern programming languages such as C++, C, or Python.
   

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in enterprise network operations, with a systematic approach to troubleshooting.
• Experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Knowledge of the Linux networking stack (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) congestion control, routing, name resolution, etc.).
• Experience writing networking automation or operations software (e.g. Go, etc.).

Responsibilities
 

• Be part of a team delivering the next generation of Google Enterprise Networks, and partner with teams to build/re-use open source or common Google systems to accelerate development and delivery of the platform.
• Build reusable designs and systems that promote scale, reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Engage in and improve the lifecycle of services from inception and design, through to deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Support the software and systems that manage the network, and function as technical, engineering, and operational subject matter expert.
• Participate in an on duty schedule with other members of the team providing support, and solving complex issues.
