About the Team
The Movement and Safety Hume team works in partnership with stakeholders and communities in the municipalities of the Hume Region. They explore, develop, and deliver solutions to move people and goods efficiently and safely while being sensitive to the needs and importance of enhancing key destinations and places across Melbourne.
About the Opportunity
The Movement and Safety Engineer is responsible for developing solutions, recommendations and responses to road safety and traffic management issues and influencing transport project outcomes. The role will also provide timely and sound traffic engineering advice to the community and a range of stakeholders.
About You

• A tertiary qualification in engineering.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to perform a variety of complex analysis and design tasks including the ability to effectively lead the planning and forecasting of physical and financial progress of projects and deliver outcomes to agreed timeframes and standards.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to explore and understand network problems and lead the identification and engagement opportunities with community and stakeholder groups to develop solutions.
• Ability to understand and apply effective and various safety and operational treatments while being able to make decisions aligned with Safe System principles and the Movement & Place framework.
