Mining Engineer

 

Description:

Our client is a mid-tier expanding Mining House with interests in Large Underground Hard Rock mines. At their growing and conveniently located site in regional WA their technical services team seeks to recruit a Mining Engineer, who will contribute to their drill & blast and production activities for their Underground Operation.

 

Reports to: Technical Services Manager

 

Duties

• Develop, maintain and ensure optimisation, and integration of the drill & blast plans and schedules to deliver on targets, mitigate risk and provide for contingency options

• Responsible for delivery of timely, accurate and workable mine physical schedules for weekly and three monthly mining forecasts

• Create short to medium term mine development designs taking into consideration power and ventilation

• Review of stope drilling plans and ensure they are issued in a timely manner

• Review stope blasts design and ensure production statistics for each stope are kept using in future optimisation

• Liaise regularly with Senior Production and Planning Engineers and Technical Services Superintendent personnel in order to ensure that planning and designs are optimised

 

Qualifications and Requirements

• Mining Engineering Degree

• 2+ Years in an Underground Mining Environment

• Mining Software Exposure

• Drill & Blast Experience

• Strong Communication Skills
