The BiOC program is now in its eleventh year and delivering unprecedented perinatal outcomes including almost closing the gap in preterm birth and low birth weights, reducing admissions to and duration of stay in neonatal nursery and delivering improvements in many other measures of maternal and infant well-being.

 

What you will bring to us:

To be considered for these roles, the successful applicants must have:

  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience in midwifery
  • Current experience working in antenatal care, birth suites and post-natal settings

 

BiOC Partnership midwife position

  • The ability to recognise the importance of family, community, partnership and collaboration in the healthcare decision making process of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples, for both prevention strategies and care delivery.
  • Commit to a learning mindset, participate in collaborative cultural education always respecting Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples ways of knowing, being, doing and belonging.

 

Desirable qualities include:

  • Experience working in a continuity of care model
  • Evidence of continuing educational and professional development
  • Endorsement of Scheduled Medicines
  • Understanding of the requirements of midwifery continuity of care with admitting rights to public hospitals
  • You must be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.
