We are looking for someone living with a disability to join a supportive medical transcription team, within the coordination hub. Clinicians dictate into the system, this recording is then sent to the medical transcription inbox, from there one of the team will transcribe the recording into a letter, which is sent back to the Doctor to verify. Full training will be provided to the successful applicant.

About You

  • Accurate and fast typing skills
  • Medical terminology
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Previous administration experience
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19 (Health Employment Directive No. 12/21 and Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70). This includes receiving the prescribed subsequent dose/s of a COVID-19 vaccination (i.e. booster), as may be approved by the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI).
  • It is a condition of employment in this role for new hospital employees to undertake a tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required in accordance with the Queensland Health Protocol.
  • It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16):
    • measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
    • varicella (chicken pox)
    • pertussis (whooping cough)
    • hepatitis B
