You will deliver an appropriate level of Consultant Physician Services consistent with the GHS Strategic and Clinical Service Plans for patients with Geriatric Medicine and, Complex Care needs. You will promote the role of Geriatric Medicine in the Continuing Care Services which is a team environment and in partnership with the other service elements within GHS and the whole Grampians Region.

Grampians Health, comprises of the Base Hospital (221 beds), Queen Elizabeth Centre (sub-acute care - 70 beds) and Psychiatric Services (67 beds). We are s a major training site for the University of Melbourne and Deakin Rural Clinical Schools.

  • Undertake clinical management of GEM inpatients, GEM-in-the-Home patients, consulting for patients in acute care and ambulatory care clinics
  • Supervision of junior medical staff
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to achieve clearly documented patient and team goals of therapy within a reasonable and transparent timeframe.
  • MBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with AHPRA.
  • Medical registration in the State of Victoria and holding Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or equivalent where other qualifications are recognized by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as equivalent or through College faculty membership.
  • Recognized qualifications and training in Geriatric Medicine.
  • Completed formal clinical training in Geriatric Medicine
  • Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients
