Description:
An Experienced Mechanical Installation Supervisor is required for our client a leading global manufacturing company. A strong background in civil/structural/mechanical installation is desirable.
The successful applicant will work as part of a multi-disciplined team reporting to the project manager.
Project Details
- Delivery of mechanical installation packages in a heavy manufacturing environment across various Capital Projects as determined by the Capital Budget. Typically, new process line equipment and upgrades including mechanical, building and services, and structural equipment installations.
Tasks
- Supervision of mechanical/structural installation works including:
- Mechanical Equipment and Electrical Equipment (eg electric motors) Installation and alignment.
- Installation of services pipework and valving
- Civil works
- Industrial Building Construction
- Development and Implementation of safety systems and procedures including:
- Development and review of Job safety Analysis/Safe work method statement documents
- Involvement in Hazard and Risk analysis
- Leading and participating in on site toolbox meetings
- Implementation of safety controls for construction
- Active supervision of safe work systems during installation activities
- Participation in development of mechanical/structural designs with focus on constructability aspects
- Preparation of scopes of work, technical specifications and tender documents.
- Preparation of installation documentation
- Management of onsite contractors
- Development, review and sign off of QA activities associated with the install of equipment.
- Mark up of ‘As Built’ drawings as required
- Assistance in Commissioning of equipment and process systems.

Experience & Skills
- Mechanical/Structural Engineering or Trades (Fitter, Boilermaker etc) background
- Industrial Site experience (safety systems, safe system of work documentation, contractor supervision etc).
- Good communication and organisation skills to interface with stakeholders and contractors at the installation phase.
- Skills and experience to develop scope of works, job safety analysis and QA requirements
