The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and driving earned media and owned media marketing strategies. The role requires digital marketing and PR experience; the ability to keep abreast of digital marketing trends; ability to leverage off existing opportunities and can work in collaboration across the department and whole of government.
The role is responsible for managing the development, implementation and evaluation of a range of digital marketing, social media, PR strategies and behavioural change campaigns targeted at businesses and business patrons while coronavirus restrictions ease, to ensure their continued compliance with physical distancing and good hygiene measures.
The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team and undertake a wide variety of work across the branch. Working in a supportive team environment, the development of strong relationships internally and with key stakeholders and suppliers is vital and will require a flexible and solutions-oriented approach, and excellent strategic, communication and analytical skills.
To be successful in this position, individuals will have a digital marketing, social media and PR background, with a strong management track record in achieving business outcomes.

Key accountabilities for this role include:

  • Manage the development and implementation of a range of earned and owned media marketing strategies for the department.
  • Manage a small team of digital marketing and content creation staff, with a flexible approach to changing priorities.
  • Develop digital marketing strategies and manage and evaluate digital marketing initiatives for the department. Build and maintain websites and email newsletters and develop content for a range of online channels.
  • Develop innovative public relations and social media strategies and implement, manage and evaluate PR and social media initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across the department and with external stakeholders and suppliers to maximise joint promotional and marketing activities.
