About the role / Business Unit

The Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of multi-channel Marketing campaigns for their Portfolio. Working closely with the Marketing Director as well as Sales and Product key stakeholders, the key responsibility of the Marketing Manager is to ensure marketing strategy and effort is in alignment with sales revenue targets, business priorities, lead generation and product releases, upgrades and launches.

Functional Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop and maintain the marketing plan aligned to product and business objectives
  • Campaign management from planning through to execution and post campaign analysis to measure effectiveness
  • Clearly define personas, the problems they face and the solutions we can offer to those problems
  • Convert technical positioning into key market messages and launch products to market
  • Write high quality marketing production briefs to ensure a campaign can be executed with an optimal outcome
  • Work with the Digital and Production team to ensure campaigns are delivered as per the brief
  • Clearly define opportunities with sales, product, and data teams
  • Work with Sales and Product key stakeholders to ensure marketing strategy and effort is in alignment with sales revenue targets, business priorities, lead generation and product releases, upgrades and launches

Lead Generation

  • Support the illion group revenue objectives through generating inbound sales leads for its various sales teams
  • Support illion's revenue objectives through generating online sales in-line with annual revenue budgets

Web/Digital

  • Work with the Digital Marketing Managers to drive social presence for the illion group
  • Work with the Digital Marketing Managers to effectively use web and digital tactics to maximize campaign success and revenue
  • Consistently measure and report on digital elements and performance to evolve performance. Ensure embedding of insights across new campaigns

Business understanding

  • Develop an in-depth technical and product marketing knowledge of their portfolio and be able to translate this into first round copywriting for sales enablement material and customer communications
  • Be able to translate the product offering into an economically relevant campaign.
  • Develop a high-level and in-depth understanding of the illion Group, its customer base and the problems faced, and solutions needed by both
  • Work constructively with key business stakeholders to build relationships, understanding, and buy in. These will include Leadership, Sales, People & Culture, Product, Operations, and Data
  • Embed yourself as a central member of the Group Marketing Team

Data & Analytics

  • Focus on conversion led marketing initiatives
  • Wherever possible, secure and interpret data from various sources to justify and measure the success of marketing initiatives

Design

  • Ensure all online and offline collateral is delivered in line with brand guidelines
  • Adequately brief designers, providing guidance and feedback to ensure best possible outcomes
  • In partnership with the Designers, be a guardian of the brand guidelines across the group

Sales enablement tools

  • Create the brief for written content to enable sales and advance deals such as case studies, competitive information packs, product and information sheets
  • Coordinate with sales team and management to define sales support initiatives
  • Ensure the sales enablement collateral is maintained, and evolved as needed
  • Ensure the sales enablement tools are delivered in relation to the sales and marketing funnel that aligns with the buyers' journey

Key Skills & Experience

  • Digital marketing/marketing qualification and/or 5 + years relevant work experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Digital marketing/marketing qualification and/or 1.5+ years relevant work experience
  • Digital marketing experience - ideally with web content management systems & email platforms
  • General marketing experience gained within fast-paced, sales-led commercial environments
  • Copywriting experience
  • Direct sales experience
  • Visual presentation experience with an eye for design
  • Well-honed negotiation skills
