Working closely with the sales teams across Australia and New Zealand, the Market Development Manager will contribute to the strategic growth plan and drive the initiative to convert flood irrigated markets to Drip. This will require a very good understanding of flood irrigated crops coupled with the development of a tailored technical, commercial, and scalable solution to transition these markets from flood to drip. The success of this role will be measured by level of penetration and area converted within each flood irrigated market.

Position Responsibilities

  • Market development – drip irrigation in flood irrigated markets
  • Develop a business plan complete with success markers
  • Identify and develop strategic alliances and partnerships
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes
  • Prepare commercial and technical offers/solutions for the market
  • Lead identification, pipeline development conversion and customer management
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to cross promote our products with other relevant vendors as opportunities arise.
  • Business Development experience in irrigation and agriculture
  • An understanding of various irrigation markets within Australia, specifically flood irrigated markets.
  • A connection and understanding of agriculture and farming, ideally cotton.
  • Polished and confident communication skills
  • Consistent sales performance and tenure
  • Strong commercially e.g., contract negotiation, customer retention and growth
  • Self-driven, can work autonomously but enjoys collaborating and helping others.
  • Learning agility – can grasp technical concepts.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications preferred.
  • Ability to think outside the box and DARE.
