The role leads Urban Utilities engagement, partnership and futures strategy across all aspects of urban planning with State Government, Local Government and the development sector.
You will lead a team that team that focuses on the delivery of a strategy that leverages Urban Utilities expertise in water infrastructure life cycle management to ensure appropriate financial arrangements with developers, Local Governments and the State.
The position shapes the future of regions and cities in alignment with individual Council visions and the Urban Utilities’ current and emerging strategies.
Some of your accountabilities will include:
- Manage the delivery of a Land Use Planning Futures strategy that informs an aligned and approved approach to shape and influence the Urban Planning Cycle to support overall business objectives,
- Link with developers and Local Government to support the development and implementation of integrated land use planning and workflows across the South East Queensland region,
- Leading partnership strategy across all aspects of urban planning with State Government and the development sector and providing leadership in relation to influencing legislation and external policies
- Implementing a collaborative stakeholder engagement strategy and plans to ensure mutually supportive working relationships are established.
About You
- Relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution and relevant industry knowledge and experience associated with either Economics, Policy, Law, Town Planning, Science, Commerce, or Business.
- Substantial general work experience in the water industry working with strategic partners including developers, Local Governments and the State.
- Knowledge and understanding of integrated socio-economic, infrastructure and land use planning concepts and processes related to the Water NetServ Plan or local government infrastructure plans.
- Knowledge and understanding of development assessment and infrastructure charging framework including Queensland Planning legislation, SEQ Regional Plan, and planning schemes.
