NSW Department of Customer Service is looking for Manager, IM Systems
Role:
The Information Management team in the Department of Customer Service is looking for a Manager, Information Management Systems to manage a team of high performing technical staff and participate in digital transformation and other information management projects.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Workplace, this role will be responsible for ensuring the health and maintenance of records management systems in DCS and supporting Microsoft 365 solutions designed / created by our internal Dev Ops capability. You will be instrumental in setting strategic directions for information management systems and participating in cluster-wide projects to provide excellence in information transfer and management. You will embrace agile project management practices and be able to communicate effectively to a broad range of audiences.
This role is highly people and team focused which will require you to be approachable and continue to keep the team rapport positive whilst keeping their best interests at heart both professionally and personally – working with your team to reach their goals, provide guidance, support, and team building.
Job Description:
- To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in managing a team of technical experts who administer information systems
- Experience in the system administration of information management systems such as TRIM, Objective, Microsoft 365 or other business information systems
- Experience in project management
- Excellent communication skills, including the presentation of complex ideas to a variety of audiences
- Ability to contribute technical knowledge in an information and records management capacity to projects internal and external to the Information Management team
- Ability to develop future-focussed information management strategies which have the customer at the centre, and which enable good information governance
- Ability to relate to others with patience trust and flexibility
- Fostering strong collaboration between teams, ensuring that efforts are coordinated and aligned.
- Strive to support people to grow both personally and professionally using your people management skills
- A true passion for engaging and developing their team members to get the job done
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Assess availability, performance and capacity of systems and resources to ensure cost-justifiable capacity and performance are available to support business needs and to deliver against agreed service level agreements
- Oversee the operation of services to maintain the protection of enterprise information and reliability of service delivery including the interfaces between corporate records, information management systems and other business systems
- Establish and implement strategies to ensure systems support recordkeeping requirements according to relevant policies and legislations
- Liaise with key stakeholders to identify emerging technologies and business requirements and recommend forward strategies to ensure systems and environment are aligned with current trends to support changes in business objectives
- Drive and deliver continuous lifecycle and service improvements, including new and existing services and systems, to achieve efficiency across technology platforms established under government, organisational and divisional plans
- Lead and manage project planning, including business requirements, forecasting, budget, planning, and governance ensuring outcomes are aligned with business priorities and best practice project management methodology
- Lead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives to align resources to deliver priorities and a positive employee experienc
