Description:
This role leads the Futures Strategy Development with a focus on maintaining downward pressure on customer bills. The role is critical to ensuring that business strategies are based on strategic drivers and confirmed through the Urban Utilities servicing strategies.
This team focusses on the 10 to 30 year horizon to ensure the strategic and future drivers for the Urban Utilities business are identified; defined using strategic evidence base and trend analysis; and customer impacts are understood to support strategy development and translation into actionable plans across the organisation.
Some of your accountabilities will include:
- Manage the delivery of the City and Regional Futures strategy to inform and translate corporate purpose, vision, value drivers & objectives,
- Create and manage the implementation of a watch tower framework and processes for capturing and evaluating new external developments and / or emerging issues that may have an impact on delivery of the Urban Utilities’ strategies,
- Consulting with customer, community and stakeholder representatives to identify the strategic outcomes they require,
- Managing relevant internal specialists and utilising their expertise to gather and analyse complex data, clarify mid- to long-term trends and customer needs, and
- Defining the future state of the Urban Utilities through the identification and development of adaptive planning and systems.
About You
- Relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution and relevant industry knowledge and experience associated with either Economics, Policy, Law, Science, Town Planning, Commerce, or Business.
- Substantial experience in managing complex and diverse strategic planning programs within budget and on time whilst maintaining an excellent internal and external customer service and commercial focus.
- Substantial demonstrated capacity to establish and develop effective relationships with internal and external customers through the determination of needs, management of processes and delivery standards, instigation of continuous review and the development of staff competencies.
