You will be a passionate people person, with previous leader of leader experience or an experienced team leader ready for the next step in your career. You will need a good understanding of either the NSW scheme or Self-Insurer leadership experience and provide clear operational direction while supporting the team in an adaptive manner. Your team will manage claims across NSW & QLD.

Key success in this role includes minimising claims risks, establishing strong relationships with customers and regulators, as well as developing and motivating a high-performing claims team.

The Role

  • Lead a claims team of 3 direct reports (team leaders) and around 25 indirect reports (case managers), driving best-in-market performance within the self-insurance space.
  • Partner with key stakeholders, assess audit results, and review the wider team performance.
  • Maintain continuous improvement, seeking out opportunities that will enhance operational performance for your team and wider business.
  • Review key audits and quality assurance findings to ensure business performance against KPIs.

About You

  • A curious nature with an interest in questioning processes and ways of working.
  • Experience managing a team is essential within workers compensation (self-insurance is not essential).
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication skills.
  • Passionate people person with an interest in leading a team driving team culture and continuing to build client trust.
  • People skills, a passion for working with others, while acting as role model for your team and the wider business.
