Description:

We are currently recruiting for the role of Manager, Business Support. This role is responsible for the strategy, operations and service level of student-related Business Support teams and Timetabling, ensuring delivery of quality, customer-focused outcomes that are aligned to the University’s operational and strategic requirements.

The role provides specialist advice to the Director, Student Administration regarding ECU’s Student Management Systems, the development of new initiatives and continuous improvement of current systems. The role works with internal stakeholders to ensure business needs are met efficiently and effectively and are incorporated into strategic, operational and governance matters related to systems, and influences external stakeholders to ensure ECU’s short, medium and long-term business needs are met.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes and capabilities:

Postgraduate qualification with extensive management experience OR equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation.

Experience in a range of student administration systems, services, practices and methods of operation and projects, particularly related to tertiary education and student information systems.

Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team of service professionals and effectively work with other senior staff

Managing Customer Service: Identifying and developing positive working relationships with internal and external customers that are built on trust and integrity.

Leading and Developing Teams: Developing a highly productive team environment in which people are working together to achieve a common goal, which capitalises on diverse working styles, skills and knowledge for the benefit of the unit and the university.

Problem solving and Decision Making: The ability to investigate, identify and analyse key issues and the associated alternatives, benefits and costs to develop practical solutions.

Presenting and Communicating Information: The ability to organise and present information, views and concepts in a concise, understandable and interesting format for a variety of audiences, from the university’s internal and external communities.

Project Management: Developing and managing projects in response to organisational needs. Involves managing each phase of the project; identifying and resolving issues; sourcing and managing appropriate resources; managing risks; maintaining progress and achieving desired outcomes

Developing Strategic Partnerships: Identifying, building and maintaining formal and informal networks and business relationships that are important to achieve strategic objectives

You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry, Personal Excellence and Courage, and be willing to work occasional out of hours including for Open Days, and during December and January for peak operational reasons, as required.
