Description:
As the Senior Manager,Competition and Consumer Policy, you will work closely with the Executive Manager to contribute to evolving, uplifting and overseeing adherence to key compliance policies and frameworks including Competition, Sales Practices, Design & Distribution Obligations and the Banking Code of Practice as well as the management of Group Regulatory Relationship with the ACCC and the Banking Code Compliance Committee. You will articulate the emerging competition and consumer-related risks as well as support the oversight, insight and control applied to compliance matters.
You will be responsible for one or more key accountabilities as agreed with the Head of Competition and Consumer Policy. These accountabilities will include policy management, regulatory relationship management, reporting, risk assessment, specialist advice and industry advocacy.
You will be required to be proactive and a timely specialist who provides advice that meets the needs of the business and the expectations of regulators. You will be a key member of the team with high profile and visibility across the Group.

What do I need?
The successful candidate will have existing experience in developing and/or advising on consumer-focussed compliance policies, together with previous strong experience in contributing to key projects/initiatives across compliance transformation (in a large corporation) as well as managing relationships with relevant regulators. You will have proven ability to effectively communicate and engage senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
You will have experience and understanding of retail banking products, the competitive environment, and the industry, and will understand the relevant legal and regulatory environments with experience in managing implications in retail banks. You will have the ability to adapt to rapid digitisation and technology change in Financial Services and/or Australian retail financial products.
You will possess comprehensive knowledge of compliance developments to identify emerging risks that may affect the business today or in the future.
