Description:


Reporting to the Executive Manager, Sustainable Infrastructure Solutions (SIS), the Manager, Infrastructure Solutions will be responsible for leading and developing our $1.8 billion capital program – Build Better Together (BBT) to ensure efficient and measurable planning, development, and delivery of sustainable infrastructure for our rapidly growing region. You will be accountable for bringing to life a new and improved planning and delivery model that delivers large and complex sustainable infrastructure for our customers.

BBT specifications and quality requirements are mandatory to ensure the minimising of risk to the network and impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of future operations and maintenance of all assets and service standards created through the program. A dedicated focus on enhancing operations and maintenance efficiency and end to end customer service to almost 800,000 customers through the efficient and effective design, planning and delivery of BBT programs and projects is also critical to the leadership of this extremely aggressive and risk-based model.

Additional key functions will include:
 

  • Lead the shaping and infrastructure delivery of the future service model across the growing Unitywater catchment. You will also be a key driver in setting and achieving Unitywater’s Strategic Ambition as it relates to Sustainability, Asset Cost Model, Growth Strategy, Strategic Asset Management, Infrastructure Delivery and Carbon Neutrality.
  • Work closely with our Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and BBT Transformation Lead, to ensure Unitywater is equipped with the necessary capability and process to design and deliver new and renewed infrastructure that meets the future growth needs of the region and the commercial and performance obligations agreed at Board level.
  • Ensure the new ways of working deployed by BBT across SIS and other Unitywater functions are robust and fit for purpose and the associated business areas are equipped to deliver services and make decisions using integrated business processes that reflects the commercial design of the BBT and end-to-end operating model of the Unitywater business.
  • This role is supported by an integrated Program Office for BBT which ensures all governance and control elements of infrastructure design, planning, delivery, and maintenance are appropriately scoped, understood and utilised for all Unitywater and partner interactions and deliverables.
  • Through integrated and transparent planning of BBT capital works, enable Unitywater to interact with its large customer and developer base maintaining reliable and trust-based data to continually inform the customer experience and journey.
  • As part of the BBT transformation ensure integrated, usable, and measurable policies, procedures and systems exist that enable BBT to successfully design and deliver infrastructure solutions.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in leading a large and complex business area/program in line with the environmental, social, legislative, and financial business policy framework within which Unitywater and other sectors of the Australian Water Industry operates.
  • Proven ability in ensuring information management is at the forefront of all Infrastructure planning and delivery activity that in turn enables BBT and Unitywater to make immediate and reliable decisions across all its assets on a 24 x 7 basis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading large, complex, whole of lifecycle infrastructure programs and projects whilst ensuring full integration of project planning and delivery.
  • Previous experience in leading and guiding relationship-based contracts and shared risk management across multiple parties.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and guiding best practice construction and design focused safety performance and outcomes.
  • Ability to drive a focus on innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement in infrastructure management, planning, development, and delivery options and solutions with specific investment in process redesign across all BBT Infrastructure Solutions programs.
  • Engineering Degree with eligibility for Corporate Membership to the Institution of Engineers Australia as well as a current RPEQ (or eligibility for registration), and demonstrated substantial knowledge and previous experience at a senior executive level.
