Join our clients dynamic team as the Manager for Strategic Planning and lead the charge in creating a long-term vision for the community's growth and development. As a key advisor to senior management, you'll provide professional and technical insights, recommendations, and data-driven analysis to inform strategic decision-making, ensuring that Council achieves its objectives while maintaining community trust.

Key Qualifications
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Architecture, or related discipline
  • Extensive experience in Strategic Planning and team leadership
  • In-depth knowledge of planning legislation and practice
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and engagement skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to negotiate on complex matters
  • Current C Class NSW Driver’s Licence
     

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership
 

  • Provide visionary leadership, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation
  • Encourage professional growth and engagement of employees
  • Establish strong relationships across Council and with stakeholder groups, including the State Government
     

Management:
 

  • Develop and implement a business plan for the Service unit, focusing on customer satisfaction, financial budgeting, and workforce analysis
  • Ensure effective management and prioritization of resources, optimizing existing systems and identifying opportunities for value creation
     

Strategic Planning:
 

  • Develop, monitor, and review all strategic planning matters, ensuring alignment with State, District, and Council objectives
  • Engage and supervise consultants effectively
  • Educate the community on strategic planning challenges, opportunities, and decisions
     

Service Delivery:
 

  • Maintain and enhance services within the Service unit's 'service catalogue'
  • Conduct regular service level reviews and contribute to the performance reporting for the team
