Illumina is looking for a Senior Manager of Public Relations for the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) Region to join our dynamic communications team. Position Responsibilities
A deep understanding of core communication fundamentals is a must:
- Develop an annual and quarterly PR plan with key objectives and core messages that deliver measurable results.
- Devise and execute integrated communications plans, media strategies and press materials that enhance Illumina’s external reputation.
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry events and make appropriate recommendations regarding communications and media strategy surrounding them.
- Write and put out press releases for key business announcements, ensuring integration with web, social, and other needed communications.
- Develop a media relations strategy and pitches, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast, and online media.
- Deliver on excellence in content with and concepts in a clear, concise and compelling manner.
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to source content and ensure appropriate reviews.
- Respond to requests for information and act as a corporate spokesperson.
- Prepare media briefing material for all media events in the region.
- Perform other communications in region as required.
- Support APJ General Manager in external communications and public relations needs.
- Manage budget for APJ Public relations.
- Monitor, analyze, and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis.

Position Requirements
- Demonstrated track record of delivering public relations programs and results.
- Proven ability to create and manage a high-volume of modern, integrated communication initiatives simultaneously in a complex and fast-paced environment while remaining committed to details and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills; polished and professional spokesperson.
- Creativity in securing coverage and buzz with traditional outlets.
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to manage multiple executive stakeholders.
- Creative and strategic problem solver with strong project management skill.
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or a related field and a minimum of 8 years previous experience in a public relations role or related field.
