About the role

MRL’s business performance has been a successful journey with many notable highlights and achievements. As we continue to grow from strength to strength with significant upcoming projects, a new opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to join the MRL team on an initial six month fixed term contract.

The Management Accountant will be responsible for undertaking various accounting and reporting activities which ensures the effective operation of their project. Based initially in Applecross and moving to Osborne Park later this year, this is the perfect opportunity to gain commercial mining experience in a hands on team environment, reporting through to the Financial Controller of Iron Ore.

In this position you’ll:

• General ledger and sub-ledger maintenance for allocated business units
• Working with operations to deliver monthly reports and financial information that are accurate, timely and provide insightful analysis
• Analyse and understand both the financial and operational drivers of results
• Assist with the budget and forecast process, providing accurate inputs and analysing the results

Necessary skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or Similar
• CA/CPA Membership – Completed or working towards
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills
• Proven track-record of process improvement
• A pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities
