Longhole Driller

Description:

As a Long Hole Driller, you will be required to follow the drill pattern and design meticulously to maximize the efficiency of the drilling process. One of your primary goals will be to ensure precision drilling, which is critical for achieving optimal blast results and minimizing material wastage. Additionally, you will hold the responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the Long Hole drill rig.

Reporting to the Underground Production Supervisor, your attention to detail and commitment to safety will be essential in this role, as you work to maintain high standards of accuracy and operational excellence.

Accountabilities
 

• Conduct thorough pre-start checks of all equipment and the work area.
• Set up the long hole rig according to the provided specifications and plans.
• Perform accurate drilling to ensure the holes are drilled correctly. Precision in this step is crucial to the overall success of our operations.
• Ensure the safe, effective, and productive operation of the long hole drill rig to meet production goals.
• Maintain accurate records of activities and remain flexible to perform additional production tasks as required.
   

About You
 

• Previous experience in underground long hole drilling is required, ideally with Sandvik equipment.
• Proficient in interpreting and executing drill plans while demonstrating the adaptability to respond to changing conditions and environments.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols, with a dedication to fostering a safe working environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to ensure seamless collaboration with team members and supervisors for optimal operational efficiency.
