FLAT Pty Ltd is a global engineering company which has invented patented, manufactured, and commercialised hydraulic fluid locking technology with stabilisation and alignment capabilities.
The role of Logistics and Material Planner is initially a permanent part-time position of 3 days per week with the opportunity for that to increase over time.
The key focus for the role will be to provide analysis, planning, strategic solutions, implementation of systems and ongoing management of the supply chain movements within the organisation from supply in China to our end customers world-wide.
The primary responsibilities are:
- Inventory / Material supply from China factories to customers worldwide.
- Manage freight quotes and bookings with local / international transport companies and third-party logistics providers.
- Customer enquiry resolution.
- Ensure the overall integrity of the Supply Chain function.
- Inventory management and regular reporting to Senior Management.
Key Competencies:
- High levels of precision in identifying business supply requirements, including production scheduling, ordering, stock control, costing, shipping and document compliance.
- Strong proficiency in demand forecasting, stock replenishment, and optimising stock levels
- Operational Coordination: Demonstrated ability to coordinate key operational activities for seamless collaboration.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs.
- Good problem-solving skills, with ability to generate ideas and solutions.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in Material Planning & Logistics with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in related fields.
- Competent in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Database usage.
- Forecasting and Demand Planning within import/export, international trading, supply chain and logistics environments ideally with China.
- Familiarity with international and local manufacturing factories, freight, logistics and shipping methods and terminology.
- Interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Ability to continuously improve processes, reduce costs, and optimise supply chain performance.
