St Bernadette's School is seeking an experienced, motivated and dedicated teacher and leader to join our school community as the Literacy Leader and Co Teacher - Years 3-6. This role carries with it a Position of Leadership - Level 2 and is for the 2023 school year. The successful applicant will have an ongoing teaching position at the school.
The role of the Literacy Leader and Co-Teacher is to support the Principal in leading the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the education of all learners in the school community, with a specific focus on Literacy. The role will also include a percentage of time working in classrooms.

  • Accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School
  • recent success and experience in a leadership position
  • current VIT registration, inclusive of a Criminal Record check
  • a strong commitment to Child Safe Standards and the wellbeing of students and a commitment to the emotional and educational wellbeing of students.

  • expertise of contemporary learning and teaching practices and assessment, particularly in the area of Literacy and possess an understanding of Inquiry learning.
  • an ability to lead, collaborate and actively contribute to a team focused environment.
  • a commitment to the significant co-teaching role embedded in this role, building the capacity of teacher pedagogical knowledge in English, through modelling, mentoring and being available to work within the learning spaces with educators and children
  • an ability to interpret and analyse data so as to lead strategically, plan effectively and respond to the needs of all learners.
  • display a willingness to be open and responsive to new learning.
  • have a passion for building strong partnerships between families and schools.
