Our client, a Federal Agency, is looking for an VPS 6 Liaison Officer to join their team. As an VPS 6 Liaison Officer you will have a considerable level of public contact in relation to complex, difficult or sensitive issues. You may liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in a representational role on behalf of the branch/division/agency.
As an VPS 6 Liaison Officer you will:
- Liaise with Agency business areas to ensure participants have appropriate supports in place within health or justice settings, and when transitioning into communities.
- Assist to address challenges or delays in access or planning decisions, ensuring timely and safe transitions back into the community
- Provide guidance and advice regarding NDIS processes and procedures.
- Support potential participants in hospital or justice settings to access the NDIS.
- Develop initiatives to build networks across the health or justice sector, raising awareness and representing the NDIA at networking and cross-agency forums.
- Providing clear and regular communications to promote understanding of the NDIS to external stakeholders in health or justice settings.
Key skills required:
- Experience in working with multiple stakeholders, reading, and assessing complex assessments/reports, proactive and resourceful.
- Preference is for the candidate to be engaging and confident during meetings and know how to build rapport with services and people quickly. Our role includes working through systemic issues and developing processes, it is very important they can work with the team and our stakeholders to resolve issues, must be solutions focussed and innovative.
- Candidates should also value good record keeping and be able to handle difficult conversations and most importantly want to work with people involved in the justice system.
