Our client's APAC Legal Team is responsible for all APAC legal, compliance and legal corporate affairs matters, covering all entities that are active in the 11 markets in the region.
The Legal Counsel (Oceania), is a newly created role. This role will provide support to the Legal Counsel (Southeast Asia & Oceania) on legal matters arising in the Oceania sub-region.
You Will Be Involved In
- Negotiating, drafting and reviewing business and legal contracts and documents e.g. leasing, marketing/PR/event, finance, HR-related, etc.
- Legal and regulatory compliance advice on business and operational matters, e.g. consumer law, employment law, health & safety, trade compliance, etc.
- Policies, procedures and training
- Support the APAC Legal Team in developing, implementing and training on policies and procedures on relevant legal and compliance topics.
- General legal support
- External counsel management
- Research and legal updates monitoring
- Coordination of Regional / Group Legal projects
About you:
- Qualified lawyer in Australia, preferably in New South Wales, with at least 5 years and up to 8 years PQE
- Dual qualified in Australia & New Zealand will be considered favorably
- Commercial / corporate lawyer with prior in-house experience
- Strong technical and communications skills
- Candidates with experience in real estate / employment law is essential
- Exposure to working within a luxury brand would be a distinct advantage
