Description:
We are currently seeking a Legal Consultant - Derivatives for a global bank.
Responsibilities
- Supporting an investment banking business by providing advice and documentation and transactional support to all desks/teams in Asia in respect of sales and trading activities across various assets classes including foreign exchange, fixed income, interest rate, currency, equity, credit and commodity derivatives and other derivative classes and structured products. Expertise in credit derivatives highly desirable.
- Advising on, preparing, negotiating and concluding (a) various types of master agreements, schedules, confirmations, termsheets and related agreements and documents for OTC and securitised products across various underlyings (b) securities borrowing/ lending and repurchase arrangements (c) collateral support arrangements and (d) agreements related to the sales and distribution of products including clearing, broker and exchange related documentation.
- Assisting with and advising on distribution requirements in Asia-Pacific region, advising on netting issues and involvement in the client onboarding process.
- Providing general legal support and advice to the clients businesses in Asia, including providing support to the corporate lending and trade finance business and to the treasury and corporate finance departments, and all support/back-office functions.
- Advising on regulatory issues.
- Assisting with (a) litigation involving the Bank, (b) aligning regional projects to local laws and assisting with implementation (c) local corporate secretarial issues.
- Deliver effective support for transaction execution and all related agreements and documentation for transactional businesses and related support projects.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 4 years of relevant working experience, with expertise in advising on/documenting credit derivatives and structured products.
- Admission to the English or Singapore Bar Bar with in-depth knowledge of and working experience of Singapore and/or Hong Kong banking and securities regulations.
- Good team and communication skills.
