The Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science (CFBS) is Australasia’s leading centre for excellence in the areas of forensic mental health and forensic behavioural science research, teaching and practice development. We bring together academics, clinicians, researchers, and students from a variety of disciplines, including psychology, psychiatry, nursing, social work, law, occupational therapy and epidemiology. Our centre is seeking a suitably qualified academic to teach undergraduate and postgraduate students in Forensic Psychology and Forensic Behavioural Science.

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/ Associate Professor in Forensic Psychology you will develop and maintain a productive and meaningful research program and attract and supervise postgraduate students. You will assist in the development of research and teaching initiatives within the CFBS and contribute to the centre’s consultation and evaluation work.

This is an exciting opportunity for an academic to be involved in developing and transferring academic and clinical excellence into practice in the forensic mental health, forensic behavioural science and correctional psychology fields.

About you
To be suitable for the role you will have:

  • Ability to design and conduct independent research
  • Track record of publications in relevant areas and a demonstration of ongoing research excellence within the field of forensic mental health, correctional psychology, and/or forensic behavioural science
  • Experience and expertise in tertiary teaching that may include a record of co-ordination and curriculum development
  • Ability to teach courses in forensic mental health, correctional psychology, or forensic behavioural science
