Role Description/Criteria
Ss Peter & Paul's Primary School requires a Learning Support Officer with a willingness and passion to improve the learning outcomes for all our students. Experience and qualifications in Education Support are preferred. The successful applicant will be committed to the Catholic faith and to ensuring the promotion of safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.
It is expected that the Learning Support Officer will:
- up hold and help foster the vision and mission of the school
- contribute to the development of student Personal Learning Plans
implement, monitor and evaluate the Personal Learning Plan with the support and direction of classroom teachers, Learning Diversity Leader and Leader of Student Wellbeing
- liaise regularly with classroom teachers regarding learning goals and outcomes of students
be familiar with and comply with the school's child-safe policy and code of conduct, and any other policies or procedures relating to child safety
- assist in the provision of a child-safe environment for students
- assist with playground supervision, administration of medication, personal hygiene, mobility, communication and social skills if deemed necessary by the Program Support Group
- attend regular LSO / ESO Meetings with the Student Diversity Leader
- attend Professional Learning sessions as needed and in consultation with leading staff
- contribute to a healthy and safe work environment for yourself and others and comply with all safe work policies and procedures
- attend school meetings and after school services/assemblies, sporting events, mass, community and faith days as required by the Principal
- Demonstrate professional and collegiate relationships with colleagues
