Description:
You will be responsible for ensuring quality and design standards of the Data products being built across the bank and driving conformance to architecture and design guidelines and principles.
You will also be responsible for:
- The solutions produced by the Solution Designers and oversight of solution design concerns from Design through to Implementation
- Designing and implementing cross functional solutions that build enterprise data products across technologies and data platforms
- Ensuring solutions maximise reuse benefits across multiple programs and engineer Data Products across sourcing, design, data quality and placement to maximise enterprise value and re-use
- Identifying the need for and creating designs or specifications and oversee the delivery of common enterprise components that enhance the delivery and maintainability of data products.
- Defining solutions that span technologies including Hadoop & Big Data / Azure/Teradata Data Warehouse / ETL Tools (informatica) / BI Tools (e.g. Tableau and Power BI)
- Collaborating with Data Product Owners/LOB service leads for prioritisation, sizing and assessment of Data Products roadmap and backlog
- Driving conformance of projects/programs to data product design principles and standards
- Utilising strong influencing and stakeholder management skills to promote strong product design best practices, principles, standards and understanding across the organisation
- Engaging with LOB Heads and delegate(s), Line of business, business SMEs, and wider Data Platforms community to identify potential synergies of data design across domains and source high value data for enabling data products
- Contributing to Information Design COE activities
- Maintaining communication channels and establish effective relationships with senior management and their teams across all business and Technology teams
- Communicating with confidence, care, and genuine interest. Take personal responsibility for delighting our customers and building their trust and loyalty
What do I need?
- You will be a self-starter, able to work self sufficiently
- Experience defining and securing endorsement of complex engineering solutions spanning multiple business units and programs
- Excellent communication/presentation and negotiation skills.
- Extensive hands on experience in data design and development with solutions spanning Hadoop / Big Data (Including Kafka, NIFI) / Azure PaaS services/Teradata warehouses / ETL tools (Informatica preferred) / BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI. OBIEE)
- Experience in enterprise grade data streaming technologies and solutions , preferably Kafka/Flink/Beam and Azure Event Hub
- Solution design experience optimising solutions for programs spanning multiple projects
- Background in solution design and experience working as a solution designer across multiple programs and a background in software development & agile methodologies.
- Experience designing for Private cloud environments (preferably Azure)
- Exceptional delivery and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Experience working with partners (onshore/offshore)
