Lead Pit Operations

This is a leadership and technical role within the Caval Ridge Mine Scheduling team accountable for overburden planning requirements, creation of pit designs for use by; mine scheduling, drill and blast planning and operations execution. These designs are inputs into the mine production schedule and execution plans for the production teams to enable delivery against the mine site Budget and SRF commitments.

This role is also responsible for management of reconciliation of overburden designs and compliance to design and to the mine plan. You will use your strong leadership skills to ensure that the design team is performing at the highest potential whilst developing and diversifying their skill sets.
 

As a successful candidate, you will possess a tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or other related discipline (Engineering, Geology, Survey) with previous experience working at an Open Cut Coal Mining operation.

You Will Have
 

  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety leadership.
  • Demonstrated design experience in Mine Planning technical roles that include the following disciplines: Coal mining, Pre-strip and Dragline while Drill and Blast, Coal Mining, or Scheduling will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency with a range of mine planning software; (SPRY, Deswik and or Vulcan)
  • Complex problem-solving skills;
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
