Description:
- Effectively manage key accounts for Ferring Pharmaceuticals designated product range on designated territory.
- Meet or exceed designated product sales targets.
- Develop sales/business plans and implement agreed marketing and sales strategies for all key accounts and identified target audience
- Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with key accounts and other identified customers to promote brand awareness, build up profitable business and gather information for future business plans and initiatives.
- Identify, target and classify key prescribers, key influencers and opinion leaders.
- Build rapport with key influencers and leverage these relationships in order to increase Ferring Pharmaceuticals business.
- Continuously update and maintain key prescribers/key influencers and institution database.
- Be knowledgeable and up to date on product information.
- Maintain consistent and effective coverage over entire territory, which will include regional and country areas.
- Achieve effective activity on designated territory (eg, call rates, coverage, frequency and targeting).
- Forward plan field activities, make strategic cold calls and appointments.
- Attend medical or sales meetings and conferences (which may fall on weekends or non working week days) with prompt follow-up on leads generated.
- Regularly conduct in-service presentations to key prescribers/key influencers within private and public institutions.
- Regularly review and report on sales performance, sales targets and market trends.
- Provide regular sales forecasts based on changes in customer buying patters or the addition of new accounts.
- Uncover and promptly report on competitor intelligence.
- Recommend sales strategies, utilising available marketing programmes, to achieve sales targets.
- Fulfil all reporting requirements as stipulated by the Business Unit Manager and Ferring Pharmaceuticals.
- Document daily activity in sales reporting database system and provide an update of all field activity on a weekly basis.
- Report on product sales and account status on a monthly basis.
- Work within allocated budgets and follow expense-requisitioning procedure.
- Report all Adverse Drug Reactions to the Scientific Affairs Department.
- Ensure the proper care and use of all assigned company property.
- Conduct one’s self in accordance with Medicines Australia Code of Conduct.
- Other specific activities as required by the company on an “as needs” basis
Job Requirements and Core competencies
- Tertiary scientific education or an equivalent level desirable.
- Proven experience and success in a pharmaceutical or medical sales role for a period no less than 5 years with significant specialist/hospital experience.
- Demonstrates excellent job and territory knowledge with a very good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
- Understands and demonstrates effective selling and key account management principles.
- Demonstrates good business acumen and sound analytical skills.
- Is highly motivated and results orientated.
- Is able to understand medical terminology and literature and can relay medical information effectively.
- Demonstrates time management skills, meets deadlines, plans well and is highly organised.
- Has well developed IT skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, Database)
- Works well autonomously and within a team.
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is able to demonstrate intercultural adaptability and sensitivity.
- Has strong leadership qualities.
- Is approachable, with a willingness to impart knowledge and skills.
- Demonstrates excellent English language skill.
- Has a safe driving record.
