Description:
Responsible all phases of architectural work including planning, designing and overseeing the construction. You will be
involved in new building designs, extensions, alterations, restorations and conservations from the earliest stages right
through to completion. The goal is to match client’s needs and to produce sustainable, functional and aesthetically
pleasing designs.
Responsibilities
Prepare architectural designs and highly detailed drawings both by hand and by using specialist computer-
aided design (CAD) applications as per client’s specification
Inception design tasks (3D modelling) in accordance with project and client design briefs
Write, execute and adjust client contracts and designs pursuant to specific consultations and to meet client
changing needs.
Prepare detailed architectural documents for planning, building applications tenders and construction
purposes.
Prepare and compile reports on project feasibility, site plans, project proposals, applications, contract and
cost estimation showing location and details of proposals
Design around constraining factors such as project budget, local council legislation, town planning and
environmental impacts and project budget
Inspect building sites, proposed locations and work in progress to check on project status, specifications and
ensure that all design are in compliance to building codes, industry and safety standards guidelines and
regulations.
Communicate with contractors and construction workers to implement designs
working closely with a team of other professionals such as building service engineers, construction
managers, quantity surveyors and architectural technologists
Requirements:
Mandatory three years fulltime work experience and a minimum Bachelor degree or higher.
Skills and Persona Attributes:
Demonstrated local experience gained on high quality private residential projects
Demonstrated capability in conceptual design, construction and tender documentation
Good knowledge of Australian Residential construction standards, Council controls & regulations and
Building codes
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Self-motivated with strong organisational skills, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to liaise with consultants
High-level ARCHICAD proficiency.
A flair for good quality design with excellent artistic skills.
