John Hunter Health & Innovation Precinct

Description:

The John Hunter Health & Innovation Precinct (JHHIP) project is a major opportunity to embrace innovation with the aim of creating new ways of working, improved performance and patient centred outcomes. The JHHIP will leverage district wide comprehensive ICT to support clinical, administrative and operational workflows, as well as support safety and quality improvement.

The Senior ICT Project Manager for JHHIP will lead and manage all aspects of the ICT components of the project to organisational standards, to ensure the work under its control is completed on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope. This role will lead the contribution of ICT Services in the new Acute Services Building to provide a ‘best practice’ example of hospital redevelopment by taking a standards-based approach to align with state-based requirements. This will underpin and guide the detailed design phase for the JHHIP Acute Services Building and the redevelopment of the existing John Hunter Health Campus into the JHHIP precinct.

You will be supported by a full-time Project Support Officer and will be allocated appropriate technical leads to work on various phases of the redevelopment project – from early design through to building, fit-out, commissioning and operationalisation.

You will report to the Manager, ICT Services Project Management Office and work very closely with the CIO and the rest of the ICT Services Senior Leadership Team, as well as key stakeholders across all aspects of health service delivery at the John Hunter Hospital campus.
The ICT Services Project Management Office was established in late 2019 to introduce consistent and structured project and change management capabilities for the delivery of Information & Communications Technology (ICT) services across the Hunter New England Local Health District.

Specifically, the PMO is charged with improving project visibility, staff engagement and project execution within ICT Services, and continually improving the management of projects to ensure delivery of the Digital Strategy 2020 – 2025. In line with this, the PMO also has primary responsibility for overseeing and managing the ICT Governance Framework – including the HNE District ICT Governance Committee.

The Office is based with the rest of the ICT team’s Newcastle team in recently refurbished offices in Smart Street, Charlestown – conveniently close to shops, transport and parking.
