Java Developer

About the role.

Our government client is seeking a Java Developer to work with policy and operational subject matter experts in the traveller pathway to develop functional business requirements. This body of work will include identification of medium to long term systematic solutions. The work also includes close consultation with architects and security advisors.

Key responsibilities.

• Design specifications
• ICT build and unit test plan
• Input into System Risk Management Plan
• Data Integration and technical alignment with internal systems
• System integration with existing department systems and external systems

Highly desirable criteria.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining Java-based software and applications, contributing to all stages of the software development lifecycle.
• Experience in delivering such projects in a Federal Government environment with proven ability in current best practice techniques such as continuous integration and testing, and agile development.
• At least five years’ experience with database design and development, including experience with Oracle.
• Proven ability to produce software documentation in a clear and concise manner.
