The City of Canada Bay has an opportunity for a budding Desktop and Customer Support Officer to join our IS team for 12 months, based in our Drummoyne office. Reporting to the Senior Systems Administrator, you will be jointly responsible for supporting Council's IS systems through effective problem solving and driving best practice customer service.

Specifically, your duties will include:

  • Managing IS Requests including Incidents within agreed Service Levels;
  • Providing excellent support to IS customers via email, over phone and face to face;
  • Being the focal point of contact for all IS related issues;
  • Provide instruction and basic training to employees;
  • Assist with acquisition, build and deployment of new PC's, mobile phones and other required hardware;
  • On-boarding of new starters;
  • Maintaining Asset System;
  • Setting up printers, scanners, smartphones, PC's and laptops;
  • Software and hardware installations, troubleshooting, configuration and migration;
  • Escalation of high risk incidents as appropriate via business support;
  • Accurate and complete documentation of processes.
  • Troubleshooting and Managing Audio Visual
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT combined or demonstrated experience working within a corporate, Service Desk environment;
  • A customer service driven attitude and approach to resolving IT issues;
  • Previous experience in delivering IT Desktop Support to a large user base;
  • Previous experience using Windows Desktop and Server operating systems;
  • Exceptional problem solving skills to be able to identify issues and develop solutions;
  • Well-developed communication skills to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience;
  • A drive towards achieving customer service best practice;
  • Willingness to learn, grow and develop your technical skills by getting your hands dirty in high level projects
  • Maintain a current and valid Australian Driver’s License.
