International Student Activities Officer

As the International Student Activities Officer (ISAO) you will create, promote, and run an assortment of student-focused activities for international students across all Swinburne divisions, aimed at improving student engagement, collegiality and overall retention.
This position is integral in improving the engagement and experience of both international and domestic students studying at Swinburne University of Technology. The ISAO will support all activities of the International Student Advisory & Support team and will work with student clubs and associations and other departments on initiatives.
This role would suit someone looking to begin their career in event and sport management. Working closely with others in the team it is a great steppingstone to further your event management experience.

• A minimum of one-year experience working with international students and/or delivering student-focused programs/initiatives
• Demonstrated experience in applying effective risk management and mitigation principles inherent to any events or activities
• Demonstrated maturity to work collaboratively as part of a team, autonomously as necessary, and the ability to show initiative and operational insight where needed
• Knowledge of Federal and State Government policies and regulations on international education, and their implications across all education sectors, including working with U18 overseas students
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with strong computer, IT and social media literacy, and a capacity to understand the ‘customer’ and respond to various stakeholder needs in a timely manner
• A degree or relevant post-secondary qualifications with subsequent experience and or education training
• Valid first aid certificate or willingness to undertake training
• Working with Children Certificate (or attainment prior to commencing)
