Our client is on the hunt for their next Senior HSE leader. This role would suit someone who has a Defence background preferably working below the line across acquisition and sustainment projects. Other than defence, the HSE leader can also come from an Oil & Gas, Mining, or Chemical Manufacturing background due to the nature of the explosives and high risk environment.

Key Responsibilities Of Your New Role
 

  • Lead the HSE function for the business providing leadership and insight
  • Provide guidance and direction to the leadership team in both the Corporate and business line / segment HSE strategies.
  • Identify learning opportunities and develop programs to support the ongoing development of HSE capability in the team
  • Act as the principal WHSE Regulatory contact for the business line
  • Ensure statutory obligations for work health safety and environment are met, including management system accreditations being maintained
  • Investigate incidents
  • Ensure preventive and corrective actions are identified and completed
  • Complete HSE audits of management system internal and external
     

The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Process
 

  • Qualifications in OHS at AQF level 7 or above; qualifications in environmental management or similar is desirable
  • Demonstrable experience in executing HSE strategy in large high risk complex organisations
  • Vast HSE experience including time spent in a senior position with national responsibilities
  • Demonstrable understanding of Injury Management & Workers Compensation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
  • A current Australian Government Security Clearance at Baseline level or higher is desirable
