Description:
You will have a background within the mechanical contractor space and a strong technical background delivering fabrication/shop drawings across a range of commercial/healthcare/residential projects. Strong communication skills are a must as you will liaise and coordinate with on-site based teams as well as an offshore drafting team. Students with relevant knowledge are welcome to apply for a part time / casual role.
The Role
- Project drafting
- Work within a drafting team
- Confidence in decision making
- Produce detailed fabrication/shop drawings within project time constraints
- Value manage projects where possible (reduce duct sizes, shorten duct runs, etc.)
- Produce schedules (grilles, dampers, etc.)
- Attend project coordination meetings as required
- Liaise with Suppliers & Sub-Contractor where required to produce shop drawings
- Liaise with site forepersons as required
- Notify project managers of variations to project documents
- Coordinate other services where required
- Ability to produce good quality detailed shop drawings
- Able to Coordinate subcontractor's services
- Play a key role in contractor/subcontractor coordination meetings
- Ensure client satisfaction
- Maintain peer-to-peer relationships with co-workers, in-house and offshore
- Delivery of projects on time
The Requirements
- Self-motivation and commitment to continued company improvement

- Resolve &/or follow up issues arising from project problems
- Ability to communicate at all levels, with personnel both within and external to the company
- Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP & Navisworks knowledge
- Previous experience as a HVAC Mechanical Services draftsperson, (or currently studying this role)
