Health & Safety Manager

Description:

The Health and Safety Manager’s primary objective is to support the implementation of work health and safety programs, injury management, and return-to-work processes at Opal’s Botany Paper Mill (B9) and Recycling facility. This is an initial 12-month fixed term contract.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

• Implementation and monitoring of the Opal HSMS at sites.
• Implementation of the Opal H&S strategy at the specified sites.
• Governance and Assurance (Regulatory compliance and internal reporting).
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory and system requirements.
• Support Worker's compensation and Health and Wellbeing processes.
• Support Health & Safety Training needs of the allocated business unit.

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;

• Tertiary qualification in OH&S preferred.
• Strong regulatory knowledge specific to manufacturing environments.
• In-depth knowledge of health & safety management systems.
• Proven record of success within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Proven, positive experience in dealing with and managing regulators.
• Experience in successfully driving a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
