Description:
We are seeking a Work Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Officer who will provide support across multiple divisions and will provide continuous advice and support to managers, supervisors and employees to ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the requirements of the HSQE Management System and integrate HSQE into the organisational culture.

This role is available in both a full-time or part-time capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Group HSQE team to maintain and control the company HSQE Management Systems
- Ensure health, safety and environment information and records are entered and appropriately filed on company electronic databases and systems.
- Identify training needs, maintain a national training matrix and organise and facilitate WHS training and verification of employee competency as required.
- Assist in project pre-planning to ensure project procedures and specifications reflect WHS and environmental factors.
- Preparation of project management plans and other related HSE documentation.
- Maintain safety and general noticeboards with up to date and relevant information.
- Work with supervisors and managers to improve Safe Operating Procedures and plant and equipment management.
- Support operational teams with HSQE activities and initiatives on permanent and temporary sites
- Coordinate internal auditing of operations from a HSQE perspective.
- Provide first aid treatment where required
- Support the development and implementation of new HSQE programs and training initiatives
Skills and Experience
- Formal qualifications in WHS practices (or currently working towards);
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industries;
- Construction Industry White Card;
- Effective written and oral communication skills including skills in negotiating, developing and managing cooperative working relationships and resolving issues by reporting and negotiating;
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
- Flexibility to travel and visit project sites and Ahrens Divisions across Australia if required;
- Applied First Aid competency;
- Current driver’s license;
- General Knowledge of Systems, Procedures and Document Control principles;
- General Knowledge of business and management principles involved in coordination of people and resources.
