Health Promotion Officer

Latrobe Regional Hospital have an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced Health Promotion Officer to join the Public Health Unit on an ongoing basis (Full Time or Part-Time).

Reporting to the Health Promotion Lead, this role plays an important role in supporting partnership development for effective prevention and health promotion activities across Gippsland.

The successful applicant will:

• Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles and practices of population health, health promotion and chronic disease prevention;
• Participate in and contribute to the development of improved population health in the region and local area
• Be able to effectively communicate, negotiate, apply problem solving skills and conflict resolution skills

This position will be located in the beautiful coastal region of South Gippsland and will serve the communities of South Gippsland and Bass Coast in partnership.

Bass Coast is a vibrant community located two hours from Melbourne. The Southern Gippsland region is a combination of unspoilt coastline and picturesque rural hinterland with world renowned beaches and national parks.

In this position, the successful applicant will be working closely with existing South Gippsland stakeholders, the GRPHU regional teams and the community. Key stakeholders will include Bass Coast Health, Southern Gippsland Health services, the Shires from both localities and the Department of Health.
