Description:
If you are interested in kickstarting your career in Health & Safety within the Mining Industry and are dedicated and driven, you have a can-do spirit, and you are willing to learn and take responsibility, we offer the chance to develop your career – and the rewards to match.
At Hail Creek, everything we do is about developing our people, optimising our asset and improving our future. We positively impact our people and communities. We strive to be industry leaders – the Mine of Choice. It’s a culture that fosters pragmatic outcomes where things happen quickly. We promote those ‘out of the box’ ideas to continuously improve and no day is ever the same.
With a large and passionate workforce of over 1,000 people, there is a great opportunity for you to contribute and make an impact.
An exciting opportunity has become available for an entry level Health & Safety Cadet to join our experienced and supportive team on a 3-year max term contract. As a valued member of the team reporting directly to the Senior Safety Systems and Risk Coordinator, you’ll work in diverse teams who will support, encourage, and help you build your technical skills. This busy and diverse role will see you promoting safety leadership, supporting supervisors and employees of the mining team in risk and incident management processes, as well as supporting health and safety initiatives to promote a safety culture within our operation.
Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to assist in the implementation of health and wellbeing programs, occupational health monitoring programs and the Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme for all employees and contractors in accordance with our statutory and corporate obligations. While gaining on the job experience, you’ll be supported in completing a recognised and relevant course with an Australian tertiary institution.
To be successful in this role, you are a highly organised professional who is approachable, innovative, and driven to succeed within a dynamic environment. Experience in a similar Health & Safety role or on a mine site is desirable but not required. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about their career in Health & Safety with an entrepreneurial mindset.
