Zurich Australia is looking for Head of Operations Assurance.

Role

As the Head of Operations Assurance, you will report to the Head of Governance for GI and L&I managing governance activities across Operations. You will act as “First line of Defence” leading the function that supports the business to fulfil its risk management and compliance accountabilities through consistent and effective execution of compliance and risk frameworks.

With a small team, you will partner with Senior Leader to operationalise regulatory change, assist with incident management, facilitate risk assessments and coordinate control testing. You will engage with second and third line teams to support the business during assurance reviews and audits. You will demonstrate proactive and disciplined business planning, performance delivery and business acumen.

Important to your success
 

• Degree qualified highly regarded
• Previous Governance, Risk or Compliance experience (preferably 5 – 10 years)
• Able to engage stakeholders to deliver solutions through strong, open, trusted, and collaborative relationships
• Demonstrated experience in managing and coaching to high performing team
• Able to challenge, persist and escalate when needed, all in an open transparent manner
• Able to apply a commercial lens to optimise value add to the business while also achieving desired risk and compliance outcomes
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; innovative and lateral thinking
• Excellent communication and soft skills including strong relationship building skills
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with CEO, Board and Executives
