ING, Australia’s most recommended bank is seeking an experienced and highly passionate Head of Financial Institutions Australia to join our high performing Wholesale Banking team. You’ll lead our FI team in Australia in a hands on capacity and be part of the FI APAC leadership team.

In this pivotal and highly visible role you’ll manage the strategic positioning of our business and day to day deal origination and execution, driving additional cross-buy, establishing new clients, business opportunities, deal pricing, credit approvals and KYC processes.

As our Head of Financial Institutions Australia you’ll manage the growth and development of the bank and Non-bank Financial Institutions (NBFI) business in Australia. This would entail the development and execution of the Financial Institutions business strategy in Australia working in close collaboration with local, regional and global product partners.

Ideally we’re looking for someone with a strong background in banks and/or NBFI, who is a true business driver; someone who loves rolling up their sleeves; passionate and hungry to grow our Australian Financial Institutions business. You’ll have an incredible zest and abundant energy to move our business forward!

What are you going to do?

Business Development

• Establishing and maintaining a clear articulated strategy for the growth of the Financial Institutions business in Australia while developing and implementing in-country development of identified target products
• Identifying resource and product capability requirements needed to grow the business and preparing appropriate business plans to support the investment into additional resources / product capabilities in Australia
• Participating in key speaking opportunities at industry events to raise awareness of ING’s brand and capabilities in the Financial Institutions space

Financial Institutions Team Leadership

• Managing the Financial Institutions team members in Australia with close collaboration with relevant global and regional stakeholders
• Directing origination of new revenue streams; ensuring that credit exposure and associated systemic risks are appropriately monitored, controlled and mitigated
• Ensuring that the portfolio is KYC compliant across initiating and booking locations

Relationship Management

• Working as a Financial Institutions Senior Relationship Manager to develop, broaden and grow profitable long-term relationships with key allocated clients in Australia
• Managing counterparty limits for our existing clients and establishing additional limit requirements in alignment with relevant product stakeholders
• Supporting network businesses for overseas Financial Institutions operating in Australia
